The organization recently appointed Lisa Senters-McDermott, who will take over for Steve Champness, according to a news release. Champness has been president of the organization since 1999. He is currently the publisher of the Americas AvBuyer Magazine, and he plans to spend more time working with other aerospace organizations like the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame.
“Lisa’s commitment and command of the future of aviation is reflected by her many executive roles within the industry, her success as an entrepreneur, and her personal involvement in bringing a new generation into aerospace,” Champness said in a prepared statement. “Without a doubt, she’s the perfect person to lead the future of the Atlanta Aero Club." Senters-McDermott is the founder and CEO of Jet Senters Aviation. She has been in the industry for over 27 years.
Her work includes starting a charter brokerage firm and working for more than a decade as senior vice president of sales at NetJets/Marquis Jet. She started Jet Senters Aviation in 2011. The company is a "referral-only, fullservice private aviation firm." The private aviation market is set to grow by about $80 billion in 10 years, according to the Atlanta Aero Club.
