PRESIDENT ATLANTA AERO CLUB
Steve Champness
Steve has been flying since taking lessons in a Cessna 150 at age thirteen. Later he flew in the US Navy as a naval air crewman and gained over 2000 flight hours in a P-3 Orion Aircraft tracking Russian submarines and ships. After studying Aviation Management at Dekalb College, he has worked in the publishing industry for The Robb Report Magazine, Career Pilot Magazine and Trade-A-Plane.
He now serves as the Publisher for Americas AVBuyer Magazine and is the US/ Canada Representative of GA Buyer Europe Magazine. With a great knowledge of everything with wings, Steve enjoys meeting aviation leaders from all over the world and guiding the Atlanta Aero Club to national prominence. The Atlanta Aero Club is recognized by the NAA as one of the largest and most active "Aero Clubs" in the United States with over 100 individual and business members. Steve was the recipient of the 2016 Chairman's Award from The Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame.
