Carol Comer currently serves as the Director of the Division of Intermodal for the Georgia Department of Transportation. In this role she oversees the Department’s statewide programs for Aviation, Rail, Transit and Waterways. This includes managing an annual budget of more than $180 million to fund projects at Georgia’s 103 publicly-owned public-use airports, 122 transit systems, 540 miles of state owned railroads and more than 9,000 acres of dredged material containment areas along the ports of Savannah and Brunswick.
An aviation enthusiast from an early age, Carol has been a licensed FAA Commercial pilot and flight instructor for more than 30 years logging more than 3500 flight hours. She has personally flown into every airport in Georgia, so has a personal and professional commitment to managing and maintaining a robust airport system for our state.
