About Mike Quiello

Michael Quiello is the Vice President of new Air Carrier serving Atlanta Avelo Airlines, overseeing nationwide aviation safety, security, and quality. He joined Avelo in December 2020 after holding similar leadership roles at United Airlines and Delta Air Lines.

Quiello's aviation career began in high school, earning his private pilot license at 17. After college, he served as a naval aviator in the U.S. Marine Corps, including a tour aboard the U.S.S. Midway. He transitioned to commercial aviation with Delta in 1981, progressing through various roles such as Assistant Chief Pilot, Chief Pilot-New York, and Vice President of Safety, Security, and Environment.

Quiello has flown numerous commercial and military aircraft, including the Grumman A-6E Intruder, McDonnell Douglas MD-88, Boeing 757, 767, and 777. He holds seaplane and glider ratings and has been active in industry committees, including the National Air Carriers Association Safety Council.
