Steve Champness, President President
STEVE CHAMPNESS, Trade a Plane

Steve has been flying since taking lessons in a Cessna 150 at age thirteen. Later he flew in the US Navy an a Naval Aircrewman and gained over 2000 flight hours in P-3 Orion Aircraft tracking Russian Submarines and ships. After attending DeKalb College in Atlanta and Studying Aviation management he has worked for "the Robb Report Magazine," then for "Career Pilot Magazine" and now he has been working for Trade-A-Plane for the last 19 years as National Advertising Sales Executive. Additionally Steve Represents NBAA as their Eastern US Advertising Sales Representative. He maintains offices at Peachtree-DeKalb Airport just 11 miles north of downtown Atlanta. With a pilot's license and a great knowledge of everything with wings Steve enjoys meeting the leaders in Aviation from all parts of the world and leading the Atlanta Aero Club to National Prominence.  Steve is engaged to Nancy Petroline, enjoys tennis and swimming at the beach and resides in Alpharetta, GA. 

 

   
Elaine Weatherby Vice President, Communications
ELAINE WEATHERBY, Dassault Aircraft Services 

Elaine's aviation career now spans three decades.  Private pilot training in 1986 launched her into Commercial Airline Sales, working as a Manufacturer's Rep firm in Southern California.  In 1992, Elaine formed her own Rep firm which pivoted her attention to Corporate Aviation working from her home in Dana Point, CA.

Accepting a position with Midcoast Aviation in 1998 relocated the Weatherby family to Atlanta,GA.   Elaine is now working for Dassault Aircraft Services as the Regional Sales manager selling Airframe maintenance, Avionics, Interior and Engine Maintenance for FalconJet aircraft.  Living in Alpharetta with her husband Jesse, and three children, she hopes to find the time to get back in the cockpit someday in the near future.

JONATHAN CLUES, Realview TV

Jonathan originally started flying at the age of 14. Born and raised in England, Jonathan took longer than normal to get his pilot's license, with a career in motor racing creating a 17 year gap in training. He now has more time for his passions - he finished his private fixed wing,  is a part owner in a Piper Cherokee, enjoys flying the Cirrus SR22 and recently gained his rotorcraft rating.
As CEO of Realview TV Jonathan always attends the meetings with a camera crew in tow.

   
Leonard Harris Vice President, Membership
LEONARD HARRIS, The PDK Pilot Shop

Leonard has a diverse background in aviation. As a Registered Nurse he sold medical equipment for many years and owned several airplanes that enhanced his ability to cover his vast sales territory. With a Multi-engine Commercial rating he has flown everything from Piper Cubs to a Pilatus PC 12. He spent four years "Crop Dusting" in south Georgia when he retired from his sales career, flying Ag-Cats and Turbine Thrushes. And he still occasionally does some spraying to help out his friends. The past ten years he has been Manager and now owns The Pilot Shop at PDK formerly Wings & Things. As the President of the PDK Airport Association he stays busy with airport projects and is also the VP of Membership of the Aero Club of Atlanta. He loves PDK and enjoys flying every chance he gets. You can find him most days holding court at the pilot shop telling stories and making friends.

   
John Enticknap Vice President, Programs
JOHN ENTICKNAP, Mercury

John is seasoned veteran of the aviation services industry with more than 35 years of experience managing and directing, FBO's, airline ground handling and aircraft fueling company initiatives. His experience includes mergers and acquisitions, marketing development & strategies, aviation consulting, aircraft maintenance, aircraft flight operations, sales and marketing. He is the former President & CEO of Mercury Air Centers, Inc. He recently formed Aviation Business Strategies Group LLC with one goal in mind: to help aviation service companies, FBO's in particular, become more profitable. In addition he is Vice President Business Development for Mercury Air Group, Inc. Los Angeles CA. One of his most recent projects is the opening of a new FBO in Kuwait; owned by Royal Aviation Kuwait, operated by Mercury Air Group Inc. John is also an active ATP and CFII rated aviator.

ANDREA VAN BUREN, Willis Global Specialty

Andrea has been flying since before she could drive a car and soloed on her 16th birthday.  She holds a Private Pilot's Certificate with Multi-Engine and Instrument ratings.  She graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management.  Andrea has been an active member of Aero Club since 2004.  She is also a member of the Board of Directors for Angel Flight Soars and Commander of the Civil Air Patrol squadron at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport.

Will Lovett WILL LOVETT, Willis Global Specialty
Will has over 19 years of experience in the aviation industry and aviation underwriting. He graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Science.  Will has served on the board of the Aviation Insurance Association and holds the designation of Certified Aviation Insurance Professional from the AIA.  He is also an active aviator and served as a fixed-wing and rotor-wing pilot in the U.S. Army Reserve for 19 years.

KYLE MCMAHAN, The Pilot's Country Club 

Kyle is a native Atlantan who earned his pilot license on his 16th birthday. After Georgia Tech he was the “Wings of Man” at Eastern Airlines for eleven years. Kyle founded Southern Mortgage Reporting in 1989 and grew the company until its sale in 2003. Now the Managing Partner of the Pilot’s Country Club he is an active Angel Flight pilot providing medical flights to cancer patients and is an avid aviation advocate.

  KEN REID, Cobalt Pictures, Inc.

Ken's first flight was in a Stearman bi-plane. He hopped out of the biplane and into the rear seat of a WWII P-51D Mustang. After that experience he was hooked. He went on to get a pilots license, also flying aerobatics and gliders. Ken is a full time advertising photographer and motion director and president of Cobalt Pictures Inc. Ken is also a member of the International Society of Aviation Photographers.
